A Trip Around Iceland // Travel Photography

In July of 2015 I went with Jaimie on one of the most incredible adventures of my life.  We travelled to Iceland for close to two weeks.  While there, we rented a camper van and drove around the Ring Road (Iceland's main highway which runs around the whole Island) camping, exploring and taking photographs.

I'm an only child so the quiet, barren landscapes were a paradise to me.  There were minimal tourists (and this was during high season!), but we also took quite a few photos at night to avoid the crowds as we were there shortly after Midsummer.  Iceland in the summer has around 22 hours of daylight and a few hours of dusk, it actually doesn't get completely dark (good thing we packed sleep masks!).

There were too many highlights to capture in a blog post, and the photos really capture the essence of the country.  For anyone who has an interest in travelling here, I would highly recommend it!  Make sure that you do more than just explore Reykjavik though, there is so much more the Island has to offer!  We loved it so much that we are making plans to go back this year.

Also, for those of you looking for a unique place to get married Iceland is a great spot!  I had the opportunity to shoot wedding portraits while I was there and the amazing landscapes make a stunning backdrop.
